Revel, the urban EV infrastructure provider, has signed its first lease in Los Angeles. Revel is planning to develop 42 fast charging stalls on a 19,000-square-foot lot next to the Crypto.com Arena and LA Convention Center. Revel’s new Downtown LA Charging Station is slated to open in 2026.
Revel operates a network of fast charging infrastructure in New York City, along with a rideshare service. (See our 2023 feature article, in which the company’s COO explains the important synergies between ridesharing and fast charging.) Revel currently has 54 fast chargers open to the public 24/7 at 3 sites in Brooklyn and Queens, and plans to quadruple that number by mid-2025. The company also has 7 sites in development across the Bay Area.
“Revel is building a portfolio of the largest fast charging stations in America’s biggest cities. We’re now officially expanding that footprint to LA,” said Frank Reig, co-founder and CEO of Revel. “In the next two years, we’ll have 1,000 fast chargers open across New York City, the Bay Area and Los Angeles. This infrastructure will close the urban charging gap and allow everyone, from rideshare drivers and last-mile delivery fleets to everyday drivers, to electrify.”
