Tesla relaunches Model 3 Long Range RWD: 363 miles of range for $42,490

Tesla has relaunched the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel-Drive as a new second cheapest option for the popular electric sedan.

Since the HIghland refresh, and even a bit before, Tesla has made several changes to its lineup and stopped selling some versions of the Model 3.

Today, Tesla announced that it is bringing back one of those versions of the vehicle in an email to customers today:

Travel up to 363 miles (EPA est.) on a single charge and enjoy the performance and handling of our rear-wheel drive powertrain for longer. Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive is here, starting at $29,990* after federal tax credit and estimated gas savings.

While the new Model 3 Long Range RWD is being advertised at $29,990, the actual starting price is $42,490:

The Model 3 Long Range RWD is eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit, which would indicate that it is using Panasonic cells.

The new long-range version adds almost 100 miles of range and shaves almost a full second off the 0-60 mph acceleration time.

Electrek’s Take

Almost 100 more miles over the standard version and faster acceleration for $3,500 more. It’s not a bad deal.

This should prove a much more interesting solution for those who don’t need all-wheel drive, which adds $5,000 to the price and results in a lower range, but who still want more than 300 miles of range.
