When to buy

Get the EMove Roadster if you’re an advanced rider who’s looking for one of the fastest, most performing, most thrilling electric scooters ever created.

When not to buy

Definitely don’t get this scooter if you’re a beginner, hobby or casual rider, or you’re looking for a lightweight commuting scooter.

The EMove Roadster is one helluva scooter…

In this guide, we will explore everything about it. This is gonna be a fun ride. Let’s go!

Basics

person riding the emove roadster on the road

Let’s clear out something right from the start – this is definitely not a scooter for everyone!

Being one of the fastest scooters in existence, it will be a dream come true for racers, speed demons, and adrenaline junkies.

And the scooter comes fully equipped to satisfy those groups of people – unrivaled power in the two motors, insane acceleration, while being quite light in weight for a scooter of this caliber.

If you’re considering buying this scooter, you should be aware that while it is definitely super-exciting, it is so fast and powerful that it should always, always, always be used with extreme care and diligence.

Unlike most scooters of this type, the EMove Roadster is actually a production scooter, which means you may not have to wait for months to get it made after you order it.

Performance

The EMove Roadster is built for performance, and every single spec and part screams “power”.

Engine

emove roadster low view

The dual hub motors have 4000 Watts of real power, and more than 15,400 Watts of peak power.

Let that land for a minute.

There are only a handful of scooters that can rival these power levels out there, and none of them are as easy to obtain as this one.

Speed and speed test

emove roadster top speed

The scooter has 5 speed modes, and you can adjust the maximum power output, the current, and the top speed.

Since the Roadster is made for fast rides, it really takes a lot to get it to start to shake or rattle – even going at 50 mph / 80 kmh can feel quite stable.

The maximum top speed achieved with this scooter is 80 mph / 129 kmh.

Range and range test

Even though speed is the primary concern of this scooter, its range is also one of the best in the world.

The official range is 75 mi / 120 km. Range tests pretty much confirm that (71.5 and 72.5 mi / 115 and 117 km reported).

Climb and climb test

With more than 15,000 Watts of power in its dual motors, there’s little doubt that the EMove Roadster will conquer any hill with ease.

The official climb angle is 50 degrees, and the scooter has been shown to easily eat up hills of 35 degrees or more.

Battery and charging

emove roadster battery

The battery of the EMove Roadster is something else entirely. Unlike most scooters that come with lithium-ion batteries, this space age piece of tech is a copper-nickel-infused Samsung that provides the Roadster with its incredible range.

It has 84 Volts of voltage and 3360 Watt-hours of capacity, but thanks to the super-fast chargers, the battery can go from zero to full in around 7 hours.

Ride experience

emove roadster front view

The scooter definitely has a lot of power, and the acceleration can be felt with every little throttle increase.

One very interesting innovation in the EMove Roadster is the joystick controller, which makes riding this scooter a very unique experience. The joystick is very ergonomic, easy, and intuitive to use, similar to a twist-throttle, but much better in my opinion.

Build quality

person racing with the emove roadster

The scooter’s frame is made out of carbon fiber, which reminds me of the older racing models that we don’t regularly see in production that often anymore.

The fenders are also made out of carbon fiber, which I don’t remember seeing in other scooters. That gives them a lot of durability.

The design of the EMove Roadster is one of my favorite things about it. It’s not like any other scooter out there, and I really like the sci-fi, ultra-tech look, especially the flat and rigid-looking stem.

Features

This is a top-notch scooter, and every single feature on it is at the highest possible level.

Tires

emove roadster rear wheel

Like everything with this scooter, the tires are designed for reaching high speeds. The racing 11 x 3.5 inch sleek pneumatic tubeless road tires will be ideal for fast acceleration and top performance on flat roads. The tires come filled with tire sealant to prevent flats.

Brakes

The Magura MT5 brakes are arguably the best brakes in the electric scooter world right now, and that’s what you get with the EMove Roadster. The brake distance will depend on the speed from which you’re braking, but it will be as short as it can be, in many cases just a few meters, and it will still have a great degree of smoothness.

Suspension

The world-class dual hydraulic suspension comes with the adjustable damping ability. The wheels themselves provide a lot of shock-absorption as well.

Controls

emove roadster handlebars

The handlebars are fairly wide, and provide the much-needed fine-grained control over the scooter required for higher-speed rides.

The rectangle display is bright, easy to see during both day and night, simple to understand, and shows all the necessary stats like the speed, temperature, battery level, voltage, current, light status, etc.

The handlebars also have controls for the speed modes, lights, the throttle, and the brake levers on both sides.

Waterproofing and IP rating

One very interesting feature on the EMove Roadster is the IPX5 ingress protection rating, which means that the scooter will have very good protection against rain and wet weather. Typically, manufacturers of performance scooters don’t assume that riders would want to use scooters like this in the rain, so they often don’t bother with waterproofing them, but the EMove Roadster shines in this area, and while I would recommend avoiding riding in the rain, doing so will likely not be a problem.

Lights

The EMove Roadster comes with a solid light configuration:

  • strong headlight mounted near the top of the stem
  • rear brake light at the end of the deck that also serves as a turn signal

Dimensions and weight

With a length of 56 in / 142 cm, the scooter will have a tough time fitting into many car trunks, though it may fit into pickups or minivans.

It weighs 139 lbs / 63 kg, so carrying it will be a challenging task.

Weight limit

The EMove Roadster has a weight limit of 500 lbs / 227 kg, and that makes it the scooter with the biggest weight limit in the world. Obviously, this will be an excellent scooter for heavy adults.

Downsides and tradeoffs

It would feel disrespectful to talk about downsides when talking about a machine like this. This is truly a state-of-the-art model, and every single detail has been crafted and tested to perfection.

The only thing we can seriously discuss are tradeoffs, and they would be exactly what you would expect – this is a heavy, expensive, advanced scooter that’s not meant for beginners or casual commuters.

Verdict

emove roadster braking

While most people will be in awe of the EMove Roadster, few will ever dare to try it.

And rightfully so – this is one of the fastest scooters ever, with the quickest acceleration, tons of torque, and insane power levels.

If you’re a beginner, you will likely not want to start with this scooter.

But if you’re looking to get your hands on one of the best electric scooters ever made, then you may want to check out the EMove Roadster out.
